About Challenger

Hey, Ben here!

Thanks for checking out the demo site for Challenger.

Challenger is a modern blogging theme that puts the visitor’s attention on your content so you can scale your audience and build a profitable blog.

Premium design

You’ll find that Challenger is fast, clean, and mobile-friendly. Afterall, the most important aspect of the blog is that visitors can easily load the site and read it, regardless of what device they’re using. A lot of attention went into readability in particular.

Challenger keeps the “characters per line” below 75 which is optimum for reading. The typography is carefully set using a modular scale for precise font sizing. For instance, the text you’re reading here is 3/4 the size of the heading above which is 3/4 the size of the “About Challenger” title. Challenger uses margins and text line-height to create a consistent vertical rhythm that lends to the beauty of the site.

There are a handful of ways to monetize a blog, but the most popular ways are by building an email list and including ads. This is why Challenger comes with four widgets areas:

  • Before Page Content
  • Before Post Content
  • After Page Content
  • After Post Content

This gives you plenty of flexibility to include advertisements and email optin forms.

Customizable header

Challenger also includes a beautiful header where you can include a value proposition and call-to-action for any offer you want. The header is incredibly customizable. You can change all of the text, colors, where it displays, and the background image.

Additional Features

Lastly, Challenger includes quite a few features for customizing your site. Features include:

  • Customizable header
  • 4 widget areas
  • Over 50+ social media icons
  • Featured Image size control
  • Custom excerpt word count
  • Show excerpts or full posts on the homepage
  • Change the “read more” button text
  • Show/hide controls for 8 site elements

I hope you enjoy browsing the demo and give it a shot on your site. It’s free to install and use forever, so try it out!
